Program Focus

Get your hands dirty.
Sticking with the method that we know best, this workshop will focus on getting the work done with a hands-on approach. After an introductory keynote from Travis Warren, the President of WhippleHill, you will select to join a small instruction group to learn by doing.

Groups are focused on one of the following topics (we’ll ask you to indicate your preference when you register for the event):

1) Skype interview production and editing.
2) Use your smart phone to make great videos.
3) Go live with online video streaming.
4) Re-purpose old film.
5) Edit with iMovie to make a master film.

We Packed the Real Gear.
We’re fully loaded and bringing it all to share. Cameras, lighting, laptops, mics, apps, accessories and more will be there for you to experience. Be sure to bring your own, however, so we can accelerate what you’re working with!

This workshop will teach you what equipment and software you need and how to use it. Go home with a shopping list to get you on your feet tomorrow! No more guessing, no more trial and error, no more time or money wasted.

Presenters

Travis Warren is the president and founder of WhippleHill in Bedford, NH. Growing up, computers were the family business. From teletypes to Ataris and Apples, to Windows and the Internet, Travis had a front-row seat to the evolution of computing as we know it. Travis is a graduate of Proctor Academy and attended Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh. After college, he spent five years working for his father’s software company before leaving to start WhippleHill.

Peter Baron is the founder and president of AdmissionsQuest (AQ), an online resource for families who are working through the independent school admission process. Peter attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH. He earned his BA from Skidmore College and MAT from Tufts University. Peter’s teaching experiences include Historic Neighborhoods, Pine Ridge School and Wolfeboro, The Summer Boarding School. Peter blogs at AQ’s Boarding School Blog and edSocialMedia.com, and hosts the regular podcast series, Boarding School Podcast.

Madeline Senkosky is the community manager for edSocialMedia, a one-stop shop for anyone interested in exploring the role of social media.
