Erin Swanson, a freelance social media manager & former Marketing Programs Manager at Water.org, discusses time and resource management throughout her time working in a non-profit environment. With a limited marketing budget, Erin’s team developed a campaign that focused on the idea of advocacy over fundraising.
Through empowering the voices of the community, Water.org was able to spread more awareness about the water crisis, which, in turn, resulted in more social conversation. As the social community grew, the money given and allocated toward the water crisis grew substantially, and groups rallied behind the mission of Water.org. Her experiences and expertise lend great ideas to any office working with a limited budget and lots of creativity.
