Instagram Your School Day

Being involved with high school and even grade school students means you are aware of how important social media is to them.

Like most schools, Proctor Academy engages in dialogue with students about their use of social media. While listening to a recent assembly on the proper use of social media for students, I thought of a video project that might be fun and creative for students but also productive for Proctor Academy.

We asked students to use Instagram’s video feature to document any portion of their day. We let the students know that this was a collaborative effort on their part to market PA to prospective students and families. In the end, we collected close to 100 Instagram videos recorded by PA students. So what’s next? Using Instagram video to crowd source alumni and parents? You bet.
