Social Media Internship in Community Relations & Content Support
edSocialMedia is looking for interns!
Want to develop your skills in new media? Interested in helping to shape the future of news?
edSocialMedia.com is quickly becoming the place where those in education and interest and/or passion for social media come to connect. We’re looking for interns with a passion for social media, online news, and the real-time web to work.
Interns will work closely with ESM’s Editorial Team to produce and promote ESM content across the social web; recruit new site members; source multimedia content for featured news coverage; and contribute news stories to the site. Other responsibilities may include research, writing case studies, serve as a curator by finding current events/relevant topics and developing a living history narrative. Some sales and management experience may be available.
Interns are expected to have working knowledge of social networking and an understanding of how to manage feedback from online sources.
Qualifications:
· Strong communication skills
· Experience with social media and networks, including: Flickr, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and social bookmarking sites
· Experience in the blogosphere and writing for the web would be an asset
· A good eye for newsworthy photos and video
· A pro-active and flexible approach to work
· An eagerness to learn about social news and community building
To participate in the Intern program you should:
· Be willing to commit to a 6 month program
· Have a laptop computer
· Be able to legally work in United States
