You’ve got your cameras pointed at the graduation speaker for your latest live broadcast. Family, friends, and alumni are waiting with anticipation in far off locations to tune in. You have everything dialed in on your end… but what service do you use to bring your signal to the world?
Which streaming service is the best? What are the advantages of X over Y? What is the best set up for Z? These are the most common questions I am asked at workshops.
So to get to the bottom of things I’ve decided to dig deep into two of the most popular and robust services: Livestream.com and UStream.tv. These services made the list because they share several important features:
- Free & premium versions
- Desktop & browser based broadcasting apps
- Embeddable player & chat
- Multi-camera support
Both services have been very helpful setting me up with trial versions of their premium services and answering many questions already.
But before I get too far along I wanted to give you the chance to weigh in. What questions would you like me to ask? What would you like me to test drive? Is there a setup or configuration that you would like me to try?
Just let me know in the comments!
